Colorful Brussels
Have you ever noticed that cities have their own unique color palettes? The colors in the sky, landscape and buildings all come together to create an impression and set a certain mood. Brussels is a densely populated city, with centuries-old architecture that attracts visitors from all over the world. The sheer volume of grey stone and brown brick could be dull and dreary in a country where the weather is often overcast and chilly. But take a walk around and you’ll find splashes of bold primary colors on building ornamentation, in shop signs and even in people’s wardrobes. It’s one of the unexpected charms of Brussels that puts it on my list of favorite travel destinations.
