Market Day in Beaune
Europe is famous for its open-air markets, and for good reason. They’re the best places to check out regional products, mingle with locals and get a feel for the pace of daily life. Beaune, in the Cote d’Or department of Burgundy, is home to a large and diverse market that takes over the city center on Saturday mornings between 9 am and 1pm. You’ll browse over 150 stalls selling everything from clothing and household items to delicious ingredients for a traditional Burgundian meal. Regional specialty foods like Bresse chicken, and buerre de baratte, as well as beautiful seasonal produce are all on offer, at the peak of freshness. If you’re in Beaune for the wine – be sure to make time for a visit to the market and pick up some great local food for a perfect pairing.
