Seaside in Cornwall
Three weeks in the land of Doc Martin, and the seaside is everything I imagined it would be, and more. Port Isaac and other postcard-perfect spots along the coast like Fowey, Mousehole and Falmouth are gorgeous places to spend a lazy summer afternoon. While driving and parking near the water can be challenging, if you’ve got comfortable shoes and are prepared to walk, it’s not a problem. A few miles inland, Wadebridge is a good base for cyclists who want to ride the Camel Trail, following the estuary to Padstow. After cycling for an hour or two, there’s nothing better than to relax with a pint, enjoy the view and listen to the cries of the seagulls that soar above the water.
