A Walk in Brussels

"La Revue des Ecoles in 1878" by Jan Verhas, Royal Museum of Fine Arts

Walking is the easiest form of exercise and it’s my favorite way to explore a new city.  If you take time to wander, it allows you to make the unexpected discoveries that often end up being the most memorable parts of a trip.  When I arrive in town after a long flight or train ride,  I like to check into the hotel, drop off my bags and head out the door to wander around the city and get my bearings.  Brussels is a great walking city, and you can make a day of  just strolling from one neighborhood to the next, until you find you’ve covered the entire city.  Here’s a gallery of snapshots taken while walking in Brussels this spring.
